GET UPDATED:new element added in periodic table

IUPAC has approved the 112th element nameing it "Coppernicium"(Cn). So, from now on(actually I found this a YEAR ago!!!) the total number of elements are 112. Go surprise your friend and teachers! :)

Actually, all elements up to atomic number 118 have been discovered. I am not sure why the last six is not in the IUPAC published table; maybe because they are very unstable and very rare.

Apparently, there is doubt about the discoveries of five of the last six. The confirmed elements are all upto 112 and 114.

hey, I said it's IUPAC approved! and two MORE have been approved! #114 and #116 though they haven't named it... but the inventors have proposed moscovioum for 116th.
