i guess the main positive charged element of glass is silicon which is pretty stable when glass comes in contact with acid.(try to figure out what happens with polythene.)

Glass is a crystal. There is no free ions in there to react.

glass shouldnt have free charges. ..hey, then what happens if we take a glass near a TV(when swithed off). static electricity! and why the charges get stable after coming near to acid? and why should I think of polythene! polythene melts. :O

I was wrong. In fact, glass is not even a crystal.

The reaction of sugar with acid is a dehydration reaction where acid takes water away , leaving only carbon .

ahhh! I found that. Glass is usually made of metal silicate. And silicate is made of silicon di oxide. And $SiO_2$ makes a really long polymer; which is very hard to break... so acid dont reacts with it :)
