Anything that has mass, or weight, and that occupies space is called matter, liquid is one form of matter. We can call liquids acids or bases. An acid is a solution that has many H+ ions. Acid release a hydrogen ion (H+) into a solution with water.
H+(aq) + H2O(l) H3O+(aq)
Nucleic acid can supply proton and it possesses acidic character.
