National Olympiad The 13 Math Divisional Olympiad for this year is completed. Around 18000 students participated in those festival and 799 were selected for the final round. Besides these 799, we have 20 more students earlier received wild card to participate in the 4th BdMO from different Upazilla Level Olympiad.
The 4th Bangladesh Mathematical Olympiad will be held on 24-25th February 2006 at St Joseph Higher Secondary School, Asad Avenue, Asad Gate, Mohammadpur as part of the National Math Fest of Dutch Bangla Bank-Prothom Alo Math Fest 2006.

Besides the above program there might be a discussion meeting with teachers and guardians at main stage on the first day morning. The local organizer will also discuss their success and problems in a separate meeting. At the festival there will be three book stall all display Math Related book and many other.

Mymensingh divisional Math festival: The Mymensingh divisional Math festival was held on 8th February, Tuesday, with the participation of about 1000 students from 84 different school and colleges. Besides Olympiad open discussion, spot quizzes, prize giving ceremony were also arranged.
The festival was inaugurated by headmistress of Mymensingh Zila School - Shirin Banu. The discussion meeting was arranged with the participation of Shah Alam Bakshi ( District Commissioner), Shirina Banu, Dr. Md. Zafar Iqbal ( professor of Computer science department in SUST), Abdul Kaium ( Joint editor of Prothom ALo), Dr. Nironjon Kumar Boshak ( invocator of festival committee), Dr. Mahbub Mazumder ( theoretical physicist), Niamul Kabir Shajal ( reporter, Mymensingh, Protohom Alo)and Singer Mahmuduzzaman Babu. Chittagong divisional Math Festival Divisional Math festival in Chittagong is succeeded with the participation of 1687 students. It was arranged on Friday, 4th February in Chittagong Nasirabad Government Girls\' High School. Students from 112 institutes of Chittagong, Cox\'sbazar, Feni, Khagrachhori, Bandorban and Rangamati joined the festival.
The festival was inaugurated by headmistress of Nasirabad Government Girls\' High school, Jahan-ara-Begum. Discussion meeting was held with the participation of Dr. Fatima Nargis Chowdhury (Principal of Chittagong College), Safia Gazi Rahman ( Principal of Sunshine Grammer School), Motiur Rahman (Editor of Prothom Alo), Kazi Towhid ul Alam ( Senior executive vice president of DBBL), Dr. Zaman Nazrul Islam ( director of mathematics and physics research centre of Chittagong University), Dr. Md. Zafar Iqbal, Hasina Zakaria ( Headmistress of Ispahani Public School and College), Dr. Rashed Talukder ( proffesor, SUST), Matiur Rahman, Bishwazit Chowdhury and Saif Chowdhury

Bangladesh Mathematical Olympiad Day: The Bangladesh Mathematical Olympiad Day was observed on Monday, 31st January in the auditorium of Shwarupkathi secondary school. A discussion meeting was held with the presidentship of the headmaster of the school-Md. Shah Alam Bahadur. Speeches were given by Md.Kamal Hossain, Dhiren Haldar (representative of prothom alo from shwarupkathi) and Shiddhartho Sonkor mistri. Faridpur Festival: The faridpur math festival was arranged on 28th January in Faridpur High School. The festival started at 9:30 am. About 3000 students, parents and teachers of 75 institutes of greater fridpur participated in the festival. The festival was inaugurated by Ramendranath Roy Karmokar. The flag of Bangladsh, BdMO and IMO was lifted with the national anthem.Besides olympiad open discussion, spot quizzes, prize and certificate giving ceremony was also arranged. Renowned math teacher Jagodish Chondro Ghosh was shown respect in the festival.
The discussion meeting was held with the participation of Dr. Md. Zafar Iqbal (professor of computer science in SUST), Dr. Md. Kaykovad (professor of Computer science in NSU), Anwar Hossain ( Professor of math in Dhaka University), Dr. Rashed Talukder ( Professor of math in SUST), Professor Kamal Ataur Rahman ( Principal of Faridpur Government Rajendro College), Md. Altaf Hussain (Faridpur Government Yasin College), Md. Nasiruddin Khan (District Commissioner), Abdul Jalil (Police Super), Arun Basu (Assistant editor of Prothom Alo), Munir Hasan (General Secretary of BdMO), Mozaffor Hussain (General secretary of Faridpur math committee), Jagodish Ghosh ( Renowned teacher), Goutom Das( representative of Prothom ALo), Md. Ali Rumi (president of faridpur Bandhu shabha), Abdul Hadi (general secretary of Faridpur Bandhu Shabha).
Faridpur Shondhani Donor Club arranged a blood donation program and Prothom Alo Bandhushabha arranged an antidrug circulation. The participants from Faridpur Sharda Shundori Girls College and Faridpur Government High School, presented song along with the renowned singer Mahmuduzzaman Babu. 61 participants were awarded in 4 categories. Dhaka math Festival: The Dhaka divisional Math festival was arranged on 18th January in Birsreshtho Nur Muhammad Rifles Public School and College. The festival started at 9:15. About 1500 students from 120 institutes participated in the Olympiad. After lifting flags and gas balloons, the students participated in a march-past as the actual Olympiad.
The festival was inaugurated by Principal of Rifles Public School and College Shahina Parveen. The discussion meeting was held with the participation of Professor A.F.M. Khoddad Khan (Mathematician), Dr. Munibur Rahman (Professor of department of Mathematics in Dhaka University), Professor Farida Banu, Dr. Md. Zafar Iqbal ( Professor of Computer Science in SUST), Dr. Md. kaykovad ( Professor of Computer Science in NSU), Major (rtd) Kamrul Hasan Bhuyan (freedom fighter), Abed Chowdhury ( Genetic Engineer and inventor of two genes), Dr. Hasina Khan ( Chairperson of Department of Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology in Dhaka University), Anwar Hussain ( Professor of Mathematics department in Dhka University), Badiul Alam Majumder (Country Director of Hunger Project), Dr. Mahbub Majumder (Mathematician), Abul Hashem khan (Managing Director in charge of DBBL), A.A.M Zakaria ( assistant managing director of DBBL), Matiur Rahman (Editor of Prothom Alo), Abdul Kayum (Joint editor Of Prothom Alo), Anisul Haque(sub editor of Prothom Alo), Mahmuduzzaman Babu (Singer). The festival was directed by general secretary of BdMOC, Munir Hasan. The Olympiad was visited by Director general of Bangladesh Rifles, Major general Jahangir Alam Chowdhury(NDC, PSC) and sub director general Brigediar Genearal S. M. Golam Rabbani (NDC, PSC).

Sylhet Math Festival: Sylhet Math Festival:
The sylhet math festival was arranged in the Blue Bird High School on 15h January. Around 800 students, parents and teachers from more than 40 institutes of 4 districts of Sylhet division participated in the festival.
The festival was inaugurated by Begum Sultana, the headmistress of Blue Bird High School. Beside the math Olympiad spot quizzes was also arranged. The discussion meeting was held with the participation of Badruddin Ahmed Kamran ( City Corporation mayor of Sylhet), Dr. Md. Zafar Iqbal (professor of Computer science department of SUST), Abed Chowdhury ( Internationally renowned gene scientist), Dr. Md. Kaykovad ( professor of Computer science in NSU), Professor Rashed talukder, Anisul Haque ( subeditor of Prothom alo), Panchali Pal Chowdhury( invocator of sylhet divisional math festival and teacher of Blue bird High School).

Barishal Festival: 12th January, Wednesday, the Barishal math festival was arranged in the Barishal Zilla School. About 2100 students of the 131 institutes of Barishal division participated in the festival. The Olympiad was inaugurated by headmaster of Barishal Zilla school, Md. Abdur Rab. Total 60 participants were awarded in the Olympiad.
The discussion meeting was held with the participation of Himangshu Shekhar Bishwash (invocator of Barishal divisional math festival committee and head of the department of mathematics in Barishal Brojmohon College) Proffessor Dr. Wahid-uz-zaman ( vice chancellor of of Patuakhali science and Technology University), A.T.K.M.Ismail ( Barishal Divisional Commissioner). Matiur Rahman ( editor of Prothom Alo), Dr. Md. Zafar Iqbal (vice president of BdMO), Dr. Md. Kaykovad ( professor of computer science department in NSU) and Shopon Kumar Mondol. The program was directed by general secretary of BdMO- Munir Hasan with the help of Hasnain Parvez (member of the Barishal festival committee) and Walia Munni ( general secretary of Barishl bondhushabha)

Khulna Math Festival : Khulna divisional math festival was arranged in 7th January, Friday in Khulna Zilla School ground with the participation of 4000 math lovers. The program included math Olympiad, mathdrill, discussions, spot quiz, math problem discussion and certificate and award giving ceremony. Besides khulna, from more than 50 institutes of Bagerhat, Norail, Jessore, Kushtia, Chuadanga, and Shatkhira about 1600 students participated in the festival.
The festival was inaugurated by headmaster of Zila school, Abu syed Ahmed and was honored with the participation of Md. Alimusshan (Khulna divisional commissioner), professor Harun-ur- rashid (ex professor of mathematics in B.L college), dr. Md. Zafar Iqbal, Dr. Md. Kaykovad, Dr. M. A. Hashem ( professor of computer engineering dept. in KUET), Zahurul Hasan( vice president of Dutch Bangla Bank Limited khulna branch), Zafar Ahmed Rashed (
Senior assistant editor of Prothom Alo) and singer Mahmuduzzaman Babu. The program was directed by general secretary of BdMo Munir Hasan and president of Khulna Bandhushabha Dr. Bikash Chokrovorti.

Comilla Math Festival: Comilla divisional math Olympiad was held on 31st December in the Comilla Zila School Ground. More than 1000 students from more than 40 institutes of Comilla, Chandpur, Brahmanbaria, Noakhali, Feni and Lakkhipur district participated in the Olympiad. A spot quiz, discussion meeting and an award giving program was also arranged. Total 61 students got awards in individual and group performance in 4 categories.
The festival was inaugurated by Shamsul Haque, headmaster of Comilla Zila School at 9:45 am. The main Olympiad was started at 10:15 am. Other functions was continued till 4:00pm. In the discussion meeting speeches were given by famous scientist Ataul Karim, Dr. Md. Zafar Iqbal , Tariq ul Islam (District commissioner of Comilla), Dr. Md. Kaykovad, Dr. Rashed Talukder(Associate professor of math in SUST), Anisul Haque (subeditor of Prothom Alo), Singer Mahmuduzzaman Babu, Hasedul Haque (Invocator of comilla divisional festival committee), S.M. Azad (president of comilla bandhushabha). The program was directed by Munir Hasan (General Secretary of Bangladesh Math olympiad committee). The program was was ended with the theme song \"we shall overcome\" presented by students of Ispahani Public School & College. A huge response in Rangpur Math festival The Rangpur divisional math festival in 25th December was a very successful one. About 1400 participants from more than 50 institutes of eight districts of greater Rangpur and Dinajpur joined the festival. The districts are Rangpur, Kurigram, Lalmonirhat, Nilfamary, gaibandha, Dinajpur, Thakurgaon and Panchagadh.
The festival was arranged in ground of Rangpur Zila School. At 9:00 am the festival was inaugurated by headmaster of the school--Shafiqur Rahman by raising the flag of Bangladesh, IMO, and BdMO. At 10:00-- am the Olympiad started and it was held in the four categories primary, junior, secondary and higher secondary. Then the participants asked their query to the mathematicians and a discussion was arranged with the participation of Dr. Md.Zafar Iqbal, Dr. Md. Kaykovad, Abdul Kayum, Zakaria Shopon, Mahmuduzzaman Babu ( Singer), Md. Kuddus Ali (Invocator of Rangpur Divisional Math Festival) and Anik Rahim ( president of Rangpur Bandhushabha). The program was directed by Munir Hasan (General Secretary of Bangladesh Math olympiad committee)
Md. Zafar Iqbal focused in his speech that participants came to join the Olympiad even from far distanced area so it may be said they have really passion for mathematics. Dr. Kaykovad said that There are many meritorious students in Bangldesh. This Math Olympiad can be a medium of exploring their merits. Abdul Kayum said that students of Bangladesh are now interested in a difficult subject like mathematics. This must be a great resource for the country.
The national anthem and other songs were arranged in participation of samera Jannat Cherry, Marufa Mehenaz Chetona, Zannatul Ferdous Urmi, Nibedita Chattergee, Mahnaz Islam Maitri and Shimonti Sharmin Shithi.. Rajshahi Math Olympiad on 24th December About 1700 students from more then 40 institutes participated in the Rajshahi divisional Mathematical Olympiad. On Friday, 24th December, the Olympiad began in the Rajshahi Collegiate School. The headmaster of \"Shahid Nazmul Hauque Girls\' High School\"; Abbas Uddin Ahmed inaugurated the Olympiad. The slogan of this Olympiad was \"Learn mathematics and dream\".
For the accommodation of huge number of participants \"Shahid Nazmul Hauque Girls\' High School\" was also used. After Olympiad the participants asked mathematicians their queries about mathematics. Then a discussion was arranged with the participation of Dr. Subrata Mazumder (professor of mathematics department in Rajshahi University), Abdul Kaium (Joint editor of Prothom Alo), Dr. Muhammad Zafar Iqbal (professor of department of Computer science and engineering in Shahajalal science and technology University), Dr. Muhammad Kaykovad ( professor of department of Computer science in North South University), Zakaria Shopon ( computer engineer), Abbas Uddin Ahmed (headmaster of \"Shahid Nazmul Hauque Girls\' High School\") and Hasib Panna (president of Rashahi Bondhu shobha)
